November Fly-in Event - Alpine Autumn
In almost our last event of 2006, we invite our
pilots to cross the Alps. Simple enough you might think, but to make it
challenging we ask that you fly VFR, with real-world/IVAO weather and in a
slow, single engine, unpressurised prop!
The event begins in the foothills on the Italian
side of the Alps at Aosta (LIMW) and then we make our way across the backbone
of Europe to La Veze (LFQM) in France; as the crow flies a little over 100nm,
but you can expect to be travelling much further than that.
Routes
No proscribed route as this is visual all the way.
Terrain following is suggested when/where possible to allow you to stay in
the thicker oxygen rich air that your engine will appreciate.
Being a North Westerly flight, you'll want to
file an even VFR altitude, but since you'll be flying "real" VFR, don't
expect to be at any particular altitude for any great amount of time.

Important notes:
- » Downloadable archives tend to be compressed using the free, open-source, and better than everything else 7-Zip archiver [4].
- » the information presented on this page is liable to change, especially for long haul events.
- » the flight ID for events is EHM-9999 if reporting them with a PIREP. Participants are also encouraged to file a PIREP on the IVAO VA system [5]
- » during events pilots may fly any Euroharmony class airplane, regardless of rank, and still report the flight.
- » pilots should use their ID as callsign; EHM and three or four numbers (e.g. EHM0250 or EHM250).
- » radio callsign is "Harmony" (e.g. EHM250 is read "Harmony Two Five Zero"). Use of voice radiotelephony is encouraged, we'll meet up on the EuroHarmony TS2 server beforehand whether there is local ATC or not.
- » pilots are expected to be familiar with both Euroharmony and appropriate IVAO/VATSIM divisional airspace procedures during events; check the Online Flying Manual [6].
- » if you still have questions contact the [Online Flying Coordinator] or check out the forum thread for this event [7].
- » screenshots, flight reports/stories and TeamSpeak transcripts for the event are most welcomed; send them to the [Online Flying Coordinator] after the event.
See you all in the online skies!
