IVAO Crowded Skyies III Fly-in

26th November 2005, IVAO
EGCC (Manchester) - EDDT (Berlin-Tegel)

To coincide with what turned out to be yet another record breaking IVAO Crowded Skies event (1343 simultaneous connections!) EuroHarmony chose to fly from our training hub, Manchester, to the lovely Tegel airport in Berlin. 6 pilots took part and of course, full ATC was provided for the whole journey. NOTE: the online department has only received pictures from this event from one participant, come on folks... email the Online Flying Department

Pilots gather at EGCC. Full ATC staffing. Here we are just pushing back from the gate. We are on the DESIG1Y departure out of 24L. The other pilots are still visible on the ground at EGCC. The 767 climbs quickly away. Here is a ServInfo shot - IvAe refused to work :( - note Cyriel way in the lead, me currently third but note the sneaky passing maneuver. For some reason EHM1651 and I had a slightly different route, and luckily a different altitude so there was no conflict (even though I was about 50 knots faster). We have nearly completed the climb and just about to leave the UK. EHM1651 is visible in the background. Another servinfo shot. By this time, we had lost Ben Horsfall (EHM-1365) who had connection difficulties. Note Phil at the back of the line and Cyriel was in front already in the next FIR. I am now well ahead of the MD87.
More of an artistic shot this time, taken just before leaving Amsterdam (EHAA) FIR. And the last shot, me and Cyriel parked in Tegel. Phil (EHM1703) landed a couple of minutes after this. EHM1651 was just taxiing in and Kendy (EHM555) had performed a touch and go to fly on to Dresden (where Sven Pörshmann [EHM1760] was controlling).

The following EHM members have participated at the event:

EHM1281 Cyriel Lamerigts
EHM1365 Ben Horsfall
EHM1555 Kendy Mathes
EHM1617 Iain Butler
EHM1651 Christian Bakke
EHM1703 Phil Nutt

The EHM management team, and the Online Flying department in particular, would like to express it's grateful thanks to Cyriel Lamerigts for his sterling work as Online Coordinator. Cyriel stepped down as Online Coordinator effective midnight on the 26th. Filling his shoes will be a difficult task. Murray Crane, Assistant Online Coordinator.
