Report - EHM EGLL-EBBR fly-in 2005-02-22 2000Z

Given the bit of secret information from the EHM Online Coordinator [more on which at the end], and my PC still not being quite there when it comes to online flying, I chose to sit this event out and operate a pre-flight service for those who felt they needed it (no one at the time of writing, but Ben Horsfall and I have been having a nice chat).

Things got off to a slow start, but come quarter past eight there were three confirmed harmony pilots on blocks: Gergely (EHM-0001), Ben Horsfall (EHM-1365) and Chris Prophet (EHM-1554). Alex Blanco (EHM-0744) turned up by half past.

Argh! Only APP and CTR, and APP is having trouble and has asked me to intercede as TWR. Looks like I won't get dinner until a bit later. A little later IVAN NETSPLIT! de.ivan.org just kicked me (and EGTT_CTR by the looks of it) Hope EUK1 didn't mind/notice.

2151Z and I've just shut down TWR. We had a couple more EuroHarmony pilots departing; Phillip Rolt (EHM-1199) and Dimitris Pantoleon (EHM-0615), along with four or so general traffic arrivals/departures (and we don't care about them, do we...) Phillip had some problems with his controls and had to give on up the flight, but Dimitris got away with no problems.

My apologies to all pilots for whom I didn't give a QNH reading prior to taxi - all departures but one!. My excuse is I haven't controlled in ages and I'm not as young as I used to be (hahaha). How is Aunty Whatsits? I'm hungry, and off for something quick to eat.

Oh yes, that secret bit of information... IVAO-BE decided that they'd close EBBR tonight, and divert all traffic to ELLX. Not sure if that happened, but I hope all your flights went well either way.
